Börner stands for longevity and quality. We have been producing high-quality kitchen utensils for 60 years. As a result, we keep hearing from customers that they have been using our products for years, even decades, and have been enjoying them for years.
That is why we would like to give you some tips for use and maintenance:
1. Cut safely with the Börner mandolin.
Before you start cutting with the Börner mandolin, make sure that your mandolin stands firmly on the two rubber feet. Always the protective cap in hand.
Do you have the vitaminsafe and multiplate? Place your V5 Power mandolin or other accessories in the ring and discover how secure your collection tray is.
2. ALWAYS use the protective cover!
This way you protect your fingers from the sharp stainless steel blades. Make sure that your vegetables are stuck in the protective cover by pressing them in deeply.
For this application I invite you to take a look at my demos again.
3. The right maintenance for a long life of your mandolin.
Rinse your Börner mandolin on both sides under running water after every use. This will prevent the small particles from drying up and sticking to your mandolin. Put your plate without knives on 'safe' and hook the holder with its sharp knives on the back of your mandoline. ( See demos online ). Let it drain on your counter.
4. Do not place your mandolin in the dishwasher with hot water and aggressive detergents!
This can shorten the life of your knives. If you are cutting color intensive vegetables such as carrots, peppers and/or beetroot and your mandoline is discolored, rub it with a dash of regular salad oil. Watch out for the fingers. Otherwise, use a small brush. A bath in soda for a night also works wonders ;-)
With these tips you can be sure that you will enjoy your device for years to come and that you can enjoy a 5-year warranty.
